Xiaomi Teases Upcoming SUV EV, the YU7
Xiaomi has officially teased its upcoming electric SUV, the YU7. It is slated for a launch in China between June and July of next year. This announcement comes just months after the debut of the Xiaomi SU7 sedan. It marks another significant step in the company’s ambitious foray into the electric vehicle market.
The Xiaomi YU7 was teased by CEO Lei Jun on X (formerly Twitter). It bears a striking resemblance to the company’s existing SU7 sedan. This is particularly noticeable in the front fascia. The design cues, which draw inspiration from the Porsche Taycan, suggest a focus on performance and aerodynamics. The overall cabin shape, meanwhile, seems to take inspiration from the Ferrari Purosangue, hinting at a luxurious and spacious interior.
With the YU7, Xiaomi has a clear goal. They want to compete directly with established players like Tesla and BYD. This competition is in the highly competitive Chinese EV market. The company is expected to unveil more details about the YU7’s specifications, features, and pricing closer to its launch date.
