Amazon’s New Accessibility Features for Fire TV

Amazon enhances Fire TV accessibility with dual audio, improved ASHA support, and tactile guides.

Amazon Rolls Out New Accessibility Features for Fire TV

Amazon announced new accessibility features for its Fire TV devices, making them more inclusive for all users.

Key Highlights:

  • Dual Audio Feature: Introduced on the Fire TV Omni Mini-LED series. This feature allows users to stream audio to their ASHA-enabled hearing aids. It also streams to the TV’s speakers simultaneously. This enables a more shared viewing experience with family and friends.
  • Expanded ASHA Support: Amazon has partnered with WS Audiology (WSA). This partnership expands ASHA support to all Widex Moment behind-the-ear (BTE) and receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aids.
  • Improved Setup for Visually Impaired: The company has added tactile-marked QR codes in the Quick Start guides. These codes have raised UV dots. Visually impaired users can scan them to access localized product information. They can also access setup guides and accessibility features on the Amazon website.

The Dual Audio feature is available on the Fire TV Omni QLED Series. It is also on the Fire TV Cube and other supported Fire TV devices.

These enhancements demonstrate Amazon’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and accessible user experience for all.
