Apple’s Upcoming iPhone 17 Air: A Slimmer, More Affordable Option
Apple is expected to introduce a new model, the iPhone 17 Air, in their upcoming lineup in 2025. This device is rumored to be the slimmest iPhone ever, measuring just 5.5mm to 6mm in thickness, excluding the camera bump ¹.
Design and Display
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate. Apple will reportedly use a titanium-aluminium frame to keep the device ultra-thin while maintaining durability. The phone will come in multiple color options, including White, Black, Pink, and Blue.
Camera and Specifications
Unlike Apple’s Pro models, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to have only one 48MP rear camera. It will use the same sensor as the iPhone 16. The front camera is rumored to be a 24MP sensor, an upgrade over previous models. The device will be equipped with Apple’s next-generation A19 chip and feature Apple’s in-house 5G modem, supporting sub-6GHz 5G speeds.
Pricing and Launch Date
Apple is expected to price the iPhone 17 Air between the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. It will start at around $899 (Rs 89,900 in India). The official launch is expected to occur between September 11 and 13. It will be alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Apple hasn’t confirmed the name yet. The “iPhone 17 Air” seems like a likely choice. This is because of Apple’s history with “Air” branding in iPads and MacBooks.
