Vast Space is set to revolutionize space habitation with Haven-1, the world’s first privately owned space station, launching in 2026. This single-module habitat will be carried on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, hosting four astronauts for 10-day missions.

Haven-1’s Features:

  • Interior Space: 45 cubic meters, roughly the size of a tour bus
  • Crew Quarters: Four small quarters and lockers for science gear
  • Common Area: Space for dining and experiments
  • Life Support: Proven shuttle-era technology with an “open-loop” design
  • Domed Window: 1.1-meter window for expansive views

Launch and Testing:

  • Launch Date: Scheduled for spring 2026 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket
  • Testing: NASA supports system testing, including vibration and thermal-vacuum tests at Glenn Research Center
  • Air Filter System: Validated by NASA in 2012 to scrub toxins from the atmosphere
