Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses to Launch on Indian E-Commerce Platforms This Month
Ray-Ban Meta Glasses (Gen 1) are Meta’s first pair of smart glasses. They were launched in India in May this year. Meta has now confirmed that the wearable will soon be available. It will be on major e-commerce platforms across the country later this month.
Starting November 6, customers can sign up for “Notify Me” alerts on online retail sites. They will receive updates on availability. Customers will have early access.
Developed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses feature a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, open-ear speakers, and built-in microphones.
The device is powered by Meta AI, the company’s voice-based assistant, allowing users to interact hands-free using simple voice commands.
Ray-Ban Meta Glasses: Price and Availability in India
According to Meta, the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses will be available for purchase in India starting November 21. They can be bought through Amazon, Flipkart, and the Reliance Digital website.
Customers can now pre-register for notifications to be among the first to buy the product.
The company says the wider rollout will help bring the smart glasses to more consumers in India.
The wearable was previously available only via the Ray-Ban India website and select optical and sunglass retailers. It is priced starting at ₹29,900.
Ray-Ban Meta Glasses (Gen 1): Features and Specifications
The first-generation Ray-Ban Meta Glasses come equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera for photos. They also capture videos, enabling a hands-free digital experience.
They include open-ear speakers and five microphones for clear voice capture during calls and AI interactions.
Users can activate Meta AI by saying “Hey Meta” to access smart features, ask questions, or get real-time information.
The glasses also support live video streaming, allowing users to share moments instantly.
Design and Performance
Co-developed with EssilorLuxottica, the glasses are available in multiple classic Ray-Ban styles, including Wayfarer and Headliner.
They run on the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform. They offer up to four hours of battery life on a single charge.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6, and the glasses are compatible with the Meta View app for content management and sharing.
