Vivo S50 Series Set for December Debut in China; Pro Mini Gets Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

Vivo will launch the S50 series in China next month. The lineup is confirmed for a December release. A pre‑reservation page on Vivo’s China site already shows the phones.

Vivo product manager Han Boxiao posted on Weibo about the Vivo S50 Pro Mini. The phone is codenamed “Battle Angel.” It will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. He also shared an AnTuTu score of about 3 million points. That is more than one million points higher than previous mid‑range flagships【2†L9-L13】.

The S50 Pro Mini will use LPDDR5X memory with a speed of 9600 Mbps and UFS 4.1 storage. It will be offered with a 512 GB option. The phone is expected to launch alongside the standard Vivo S50.

The new model succeeds the Vivo S30 Pro Mini, which arrived in May. The S30 Pro Mini featured a 6.31‑inch AMOLED 1.5K display. It also had a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 4 nm MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC, and triple rear cameras. The cameras include a 50 MP main, a 50 MP periscope telephoto, and an 8 MP ultra‑wide. Additionally, it featured a 50 MP front camera. It also had IP68/69 protection and a 6,500 mAh battery with 90 W fast charge.

Vivo has not revealed pricing for the S50 series yet. The company is expected to share more details as the launch approaches.
