New AI Shopping Tools in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft introduces AI tools in Edge for shopping, enhancing user experience with price comparisons and alerts.

Microsoft Brings New AI Shopping Tools to Edge Browser

Microsoft has entered the AI shopping war.
The company joins Google, OpenAI, and Perplexity.
New AI shopping features are now added to Copilot in the Edge browser.

Users can continue using existing tools.
They now also get a new exclusive feature.
Copilot can tell users if a product is cheaper elsewhere.
It can also show cashback offers and discounts.

In a blog post, Microsoft’s Roger Capriotti shared the details.
He said the company aims to boost engagement during the holiday season.
Microsoft becomes the fourth major AI player targeting shoppers.

Existing Copilot tools include Cashback, Price Comparison, Price History, Product Insights, and Price Tracking.
These features work inside Copilot Mode on Edge.
They are currently available only in the US.
OpenAI’s Shopping Research remains the only major global option.

To use the features, users must open a supported retailer page.
Then they click the Copilot icon.
They can view product info, compare alternatives, or set price alerts.
They can also use natural-language prompts to refine results.

Microsoft is also adding a new proactive feature.
If a user has multiple e-commerce tabs open, Copilot will alert them.
The alert will show if another site offers lower prices or cashback.
This feature is US-only as well.

AI-driven commerce is a rising trend.
Companies want to use AI for product discovery, recommendations, and checkout.
The holiday season is a key testing ground.

When users shop through AI platforms, companies gain insights into buying behaviour.
This data can help build more personalised experiences.
It can also become a future revenue source.
