Apple refreshed its MacBook Pro lineup this week. The company introduced new models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chipsets.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro (2026) with M5 Max now serves as the flagship laptop. Apple launched it in India and other markets on March 3. Customers can pre-order the device right now through the official online store.
The laptop comes in two display sizes. It offers Silver and Space Grey colour options. The base price starts at Rs. 4,29,900 for the M5 Max variant.
Benchmark results appeared soon after the launch. An unspecified Apple device showed up on Geekbench under the identifier “Mac17,7”. This matches the new 16-inch MacBook Pro (2026) with M5 Max.
The chip features an 18-core CPU. It reaches a peak clock speed of 4.60GHz. The tested model included 128GB of RAM and ran macOS 26.3.1.
Performance numbers impress. The M5 Max scored 4,268 points in single-core tests. It achieved 29,233 points in multi-core performance.
For comparison, the previous M4 Max model scored 3,915 in single-core. It reached 25,702 in multi-core. Thus, the new version improves by 353 points in single-core and 3,531 points in multi-core.
The M5 Max chip delivers strong upgrades. It includes six Super Cores and 12 performance cores. Additionally, it packs a 40-core GPU, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
Connectivity options stay modern. The laptop supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. It also features Apple’s N1 networking chip.
Battery life remains reliable. The device houses a 100Wh battery. Moreover, it supports 140W wired fast charging.
