Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17 in India. The company also introduced the Xiaomi 17 Ultra alongside it. This flagship model features Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Engineers built the processor on a 3nm architecture.
The phone first debuted in China last September. It carried a massive 7,000mAh battery there. However, global versions, including the Indian model, come with a 6,300mAh cell. It supports fast wired and wireless charging. Additionally, Xiaomi equipped the device with a Leica-tuned 50-megapixel triple rear camera system.
Xiaomi 17 starts at Rs. 89,999 for the 12GB RAM plus 256GB storage variant. The 12GB plus 512GB model costs Rs. 99,999. Buyers can choose EMI options from Rs. 9,999 per month for nine months. The phone arrives in Black, Ice Blue, and Venture Green colors. Sales begin on March 18 through Amazon, the Xiaomi India website, and Xiaomi retail stores.
The company offers exciting launch deals. Under the ‘Never Run Out’ promotion, customers get the 512GB variant at the 256GB price. The Early Bird period runs from March 13 to March 17. During this time, buyers receive a free Phone Damage Protection Plan worth Rs. 9,999. Moreover, partners provide extra benefits. Customers receive four months of Spotify Premium. They also get three months of Google AI Pro and three months of YouTube Premium. Additionally, there are Jio perks worth Rs. 31,500.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powers the device. It pairs with an Adreno GPU and Qualcomm AI Engine. The phone offers up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi added its 3D IceLoop cooling system. This feature manages heat during intense tasks. The handset runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3. It includes the new HyperAI suite with tools like AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition, AI Interpreter, AI Search, AI Dynamic Wallpapers, and Circle to Search with Google Gemini.
The Leica-backed camera setup shines brightly. It features a 50-megapixel main sensor with Light Fusion 950 and OIS. A 50-megapixel telephoto lens offers 60mm focal length and OIS. The 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens provides a 102-degree field of view. Up front, a 50-megapixel autofocus selfie camera waits. Rear cameras record 8K video at 30fps and 4K at 60fps.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and USB Type-C with USB 3.2 Gen 1. Stereo speakers deliver Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. A four-microphone array enhances calls. Security comes via an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock.
