The device features a custom Qualcomm processor. This chip provides a massive 220% performance increase compared to the first-generation model. Additionally, Ayaneo added active cooling to manage heat during intense gameplay sessions.
Battery life sees a significant boost as well. The new 3,950 mAh cell offers 52% more capacity than before. As a result, users can enjoy longer playtime on the go.
On the outside, the Pocket Micro 2 maintains a premium build. It uses a CNC-machined metal frame and weighs just 248 grams. The device measures 162 by 67.8 by 18 mm, which makes it easy to carry. Furthermore, it comes with a 3.5-inch LCD display. The screen uses a 960 x 640 resolution and 3:2 aspect ratio. This setup perfectly supports Game Boy Advance games at native 4x scale without distortion.
Ayaneo refined the controls for better user experience. The handheld now includes a larger D-pad and responsive ABXY buttons. It also features recessed TMR analog sticks for precise inputs. Moreover, the shoulder buttons have a staggered design. This helps players distinguish them easily by touch.
For connectivity, the device offers a USB-C 3.1 port that supports fast charging and data transfer. It also includes a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Pocket Micro 2 runs on Android and uses Ayaneo’s AyaSpace software for smooth game management.
The handheld is available in Midnight Black and Frosty White colors. Pricing starts at $239 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model during the launch period. The 8GB RAM + 256GB variant costs $279. Additionally, a limited-edition Stardust Purple model comes at an early bird price of $309.
