Airtel’s Unlimited 5G Data: Hotspot Sharing Explained

Airtel has no restrictions on sharing unlimited 5G data via hotspots, despite user confusion.

Airtel first introduced its popular Unlimited 5G Data offer in India back in 2023. Recently, however, several users reported problems when trying to share this data through mobile hotspots.

Many people wondered if hidden rules prevented hotspot sharing. Screenshots of supposed terms and conditions spread quickly online. Yet, sources familiar with the matter clarified the situation.

No Official Restriction Found

Airtel’s official website does not mention any ban on sharing Unlimited 5G Data via hotspots. Moreover, the company’s terms and conditions page currently contains no such limitations.

Reports had suggested that the offer was meant only for personal and non-commercial use. However, reliable sources confirmed that Airtel has not published these specific restrictions.

Other Recent Airtel Updates

Last November, Airtel began upgrading its 5G network. The company transitioned customers to a dual-mode system combining Non-Standalone and Standalone technology. This important step prepares India for advanced 5G services in the future.

In addition, Airtel quietly removed one of its entry-level postpaid plans. The Rs. 549 plan no longer appears on the company’s website or in the Airtel Thanks app.

Customers can now choose the Rs. 449 plan as the new starting option. The Rs. 699 Family plan also remains available. The rest of Airtel’s postpaid lineup stays unchanged.

What This Means for Users

Airtel continues to deliver strong 5G benefits across India. Customers should check the official app or website for the latest details on plans and data sharing features.

If you face any issues with hotspot sharing, contacting Airtel customer support directly often resolves questions quickly.
