Ubisoft celebrates 25 years of the Ghost Recon franchise with special free offers. The company gives away the PC version of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier at no cost. Players can redeem the 2012 title on the Ubisoft Connect store. The free redemption window runs from August 6 to August 13 at 8am UTC, which equals 1:30pm IST.
In addition, Ubisoft makes two later entries free to play this weekend. Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint become available on PC and consoles from August 6 to August 10. These temporary free access periods let new and returning players experience the games without purchase.
Furthermore, Ubisoft releases a major free update for Ghost Recon Wildlands called Last Rites. The update adds a standalone story mission. This mission places players in a darker and more oppressive version of Bolivia. At the same time, the update brings 60fps support to current-generation consoles. Visual improvements also arrive. These include better distance rendering, enhanced lighting, improved shadows, and 4K image quality.
The Last Rites update expands player options further. It introduces more customization settings across gameplay, difficulty, environment, and user interface. Moreover, the popular Predator event returns after its earlier removal. Creative director Olivier Leonardi shared the team’s intent. He stated that the community’s passion and feedback shaped the franchise over 25 years. The update aims to honor that legacy and thank longtime players.
Ubisoft also launches a franchise-wide sale across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Alongside the promotions, the company introduces a new Insider Program. Players can sign up to test the next Ghost Recon game. Ubisoft confirms that the next entry remains in active development. Early participants in the Insider Program will receive access to closed tests.
