Honor has launched the Robot Phone in China. The device features a distinctive pop-out camera gimbal. A 200-megapixel main sensor sits on a rotating module at the top of the phone. This setup allows users to record video hands-free without a tripod. Artificial intelligence keeps the subject in frame automatically.
The phone runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It supports up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. A large 7,060mAh battery powers the device and supports 120W wired charging along with 50W wireless charging. Honor first teased the Robot Phone concept last year and showcased it at MWC 2026.
Pricing and Availability
In China, the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model is priced at 9,999 yuan, or roughly Rs 1,41,000. The top version with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage costs 12,999 yuan, about Rs 1,83,000. The phone is available in Moon Shadow Grey and Star Trail Silver colours.
Design and Display
The Honor Robot Phone has a 6.31-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,216 x 2,640 pixels. It offers 460ppi density and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Peak HDR brightness reaches up to 6,800 nits. The device runs MagicOS 10.
Performance and Cameras
An octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor works with an Adreno 840 GPU. Memory options include up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of storage.
The rear camera system is built around a 200-megapixel primary sensor. It uses a 1/1.28-inch CMOS sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and gimbal stabilisation. A second 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera provides 2.7x optical zoom and up to 200x digital zoom. A 50-megapixel ultrawide lens covers a 122-degree field of view.
The front camera is a 50-megapixel unit with a 90-degree field of view. Rear cameras can record 4K video at up to 120 frames per second. The front camera supports 4K video at 60 frames per second.
The standout feature is the robotic gimbal camera mounted on top. It uses a three-axis mechanical stabilisation system and AI-powered subject tracking. Honor partnered with ARRI for this camera technology.
Battery, Connectivity and Other Features
The 7,060mAh battery supports 120W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, USB Type-C, and multiple satellite navigation systems. The phone also includes an infrared remote control.
It has stereo speakers and four microphones with AI noise reduction. A 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor handles biometric unlock. Additional sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, proximity sensor, Hall sensor, and an X-axis linear motor.
The device measures 151.43 x 72.86 x 9.59 mm and weighs approximately 248 grams.
