Poco is set to launch the M8x 5G in India this week. The phone will join the company’s mid-range M8 lineup. Ahead of the unveiling, the Xiaomi sub-brand has teased several key details. It has now updated the dedicated microsite with more specifications. These include battery capacity, claimed battery life and charging support. The company has already confirmed an octa-core Snapdragon 4 series chipset. It has also teased at least one green colour option.
The updated microsite states that the Poco M8x 5G will carry a 7,900mAh battery. Poco claims the phone can last up to three days on a single charge. The company also says it can deliver about 35 hours of social-media scrolling. Other estimates include 27 days of messaging, 13 hours of GPS navigation or 64 hours of music playback.
The handset will support 45W wired fast charging. Poco claims 30 minutes of charging can provide a day’s battery life. In addition, the phone will offer 22.5W wired reverse charging. Pricing, RAM and storage options, extra colours and the camera setup are still expected in the coming days.
The launch is scheduled for August 21 at 12 pm IST. The phone will use a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset built on a 4nm process. Poco says apps will open 43 percent faster. The device has scored more than 650,000 points on AnTuTu.
The M8x 5G will come with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. For cooling, it will use a triple system. This includes a 12,439 square millimetre graphite area, a 1,924 square millimetre copper foil layer and 3.5W thermal gel. The phone will go on sale in India through Flipkart. At least one green colour option is confirmed.
