Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 Launch Nears as App Teardown Reveals Key Features

Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 appears close to launch. A teardown of the Galaxy Fit 4 Manager companion app has revealed several details about the upcoming fitness tracker while the official announcement remains pending.

The wearable is expected to retain most of the health and fitness tracking capabilities of the Galaxy Fit 3, which debuted in 2024. Additionally, it could support up to 12 tiles for quick access to apps and animations. The tracker is also tipped to feature a taller display and two notification management options.

A teardown by Sammyguru suggests that the Galaxy Fit 4 will offer features similar to those on the Galaxy Fit 3. The companion app includes a new banner in the software update interface to notify users of available updates. Furthermore, the new wearable could offer a Find My Phone option, allowing users to ring a connected smartphone directly from the fitness tracker.

The teardown shows Smart device selection and Always show on both options. The app also includes explanatory text and animations that demonstrate how notifications will appear on the paired smartphone and the fitness tracker. Moreover, the app contains watch face assets with a resolution of 258 x 428 pixels. This points to a slightly taller display compared with its predecessor. The Galaxy Fit 4 could arrive in Black, Silver, and Light Green colours.

The companion app indicates that the tracker will monitor steps, active time, and calories burned during physical activities. Users may customise daily activity goals through the Samsung Health app. However, references to GPS are reportedly missing from the application.

The Galaxy Fit 4 could also monitor heart rate and stress, with additional controls available through Samsung Health. It is expected to offer sleep monitoring, including sleep stage tracking and an overall sleep score. Other features listed in the app include blood oxygen monitoring and snoring detection. In addition, the wearable could provide workout tracking, automatic activity recognition, and multiple workout-related tiles. The app includes options for synchronising exercise data with Samsung Health. It could also offer menstrual cycle tracking, water and food logging, and breathing exercises.

Samsung has yet to officially announce the Galaxy Fit 4 or confirm its full specifications. The company launched the Galaxy Fit 3 in India in February 2024 at a price of Rs. 4,999.
