The iPhone 18 is still months away from launch. Yet, early renders of the iPhone 20 have already appeared online.

A new video render from a YouTube channel claims to show the future iPhone 20. The device appears to bring one of the biggest design shifts in iPhone history. Although Apple has not confirmed any details, the renders match several long-standing rumors from supply chain sources and analysts.

A Nearly Bezel-Free Design

The leaked images display an almost bezel-less iPhone 20. Glass flows smoothly across all four edges. The back uses full glass, while the front hides Face ID completely under the display. Moreover, the sides feature no physical buttons at all.

Why the Name iPhone 20?

The naming has sparked interest. If Apple releases the iPhone 18 this year, the 2027 model should normally be called iPhone 19. However, reports suggest Apple may skip to iPhone 20 to mark the 20th anniversary of the original iPhone.

Apple followed a similar approach in 2017. It skipped the iPhone 9 and launched the iPhone X to celebrate the 10th anniversary. That model introduced major changes like Face ID and edge-to-edge display.

Three Big Design Changes

The renders highlight three important upgrades for the iPhone 20 series:

First, the phone will use a quad-curved screen. Apple is reportedly working with Samsung on a special OLED panel that curves gently on all four sides.

Second, the Dynamic Island may disappear. Both the front camera and Face ID system could sit fully under the display.

Third, Apple may remove all physical buttons. Instead, the phone will use solid-state touch controls with haptic feedback.

Expected Hardware Upgrades

In addition to design changes, the iPhone 20 is expected to bring strong performance improvements. It may feature Apple’s new 2nm A21 chip. The main camera could reach 200 megapixels with better HDR support. Furthermore, the device might use advanced silicon-carbon battery technology for longer life.

Current Challenges

Apple still needs to solve some technical issues. The company is collaborating with Samsung and LG to fix brightness problems around the curved screen edges. Under-display Face ID also requires careful work to maintain fast unlocking and good selfie quality.

This early leak creates excitement among fans. While these renders remain unconfirmed, they point to a bold future direction for the iPhone. Apple is likely to introduce these changes gradually in the coming years.
