Oppo Launches Reno 16 Series and Pad 6 Tablet in China

Oppo introduced the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro smartphones on Monday during its May 2026 launch event. The company also unveiled the flagship Oppo Pad 6 tablet alongside the new phones.

The Reno 16 series comes in three attractive colour options. Top variants offer up to 16GB of RAM. Both models feature a triple rear camera setup. The Reno 16 Pro stands out with its 200-megapixel main camera. Additionally, both phones include a 50-megapixel selfie camera. They run on MediaTek Dimensity chipsets for smooth performance.

Pricing and Availability

The base Oppo Reno 16 starts at CNY 3,499 (about Rs. 49,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. Higher configurations follow: the 16GB + 256GB model costs CNY 3,899 (roughly Rs. 55,000), the 12GB + 512GB reaches CNY 3,999 (around Rs. 56,000), and the 16GB + 512GB is priced at CNY 4,299 (approximately Rs. 60,000). The premium 16GB RAM + 1TB storage option sells for CNY 4,899 (nearly Rs. 69,000).

Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 16 Pro base variant begins at CNY 4,499 (about Rs. 63,000). The 12GB + 512GB version costs CNY 4,899 (roughly Rs. 69,000), while the 16GB + 512GB model is available at CNY 5,299 (around Rs. 74,000).

Furthermore, both phones will go on sale in China starting May 29 through the official Oppo online store. The Reno 16 offers Galaxy Purple, Heartbeat, and Moonlight Is Dark colours. On the other hand, the Reno 16 Pro comes in Dream White, Heartbeat, and Moonlight Is Dark shades.

Key Specifications and Features

These dual-SIM phones operate on Android 16 with ColorOS 16. The Reno 16 Pro boasts a large 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. It supports up to 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling, and reaches 1,800 nits peak brightness. Moreover, it delivers 450 ppi pixel density with vibrant colours.

The standard Reno 16 features a compact 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED screen with 460 ppi density and similar display qualities.

Additionally, the Reno 16 Pro uses a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. The Reno 16 relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super processor. Both models support up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB UFS 3.1 storage. They also carry an IP69K rating for strong dust and water resistance.

For photography, both phones share the same triple rear camera system. It includes a 200-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom. They record videos up to 4K at 60 fps. The front camera delivers 50 megapixels for sharp selfies.

Battery and Other Details

The Reno 16 Pro packs a massive 7,000mAh battery, while the Reno 16 comes with a 6,700mAh cell. Both support 80W fast wired charging. However, only the Pro model adds 50W wireless charging support.

Moreover, the phones offer 5G connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and multiple satellite navigation systems. They include an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock feature for security.

In terms of design, the Reno 16 Pro measures 161.31 × 76.46 × 7.86mm and weighs 208g. The lighter Reno 16 measures 151.21 × 72.42 × 8.36mm and weighs 191g.

Overall, the Reno 16 series brings strong cameras, fast performance, and premium features to the mid-premium segment.
