Samsung Tests New Exynos 2700 Against Qualcomm Chips
Samsung is developing the Exynos 2700 processor. The company aims to use it in the Galaxy S27 series. The phones may launch at a Galaxy Unpacked event in early 2027. Samsung has not confirmed these plans officially. A new report now claims strong internal results for the chip.
South Korean publication SEDaily cites industry sources. Samsung’s MX division recently ran internal tests. The team compared Exynos 2700 with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series. This lineup includes the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Pro version. Samsung’s processor reportedly led in CPU, GPU, AI, and power-efficiency tests.
In Geekbench 6.5 multi-core testing, Exynos 2700 scored 19 percent higher than the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. It also scored 9.5 percent higher than the Pro variant. GPU results showed further gains. Exynos 2700 delivered 5 percent higher peak performance than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Under a low-power 2.5W condition, Samsung’s chip performed 22 percent better than the Pro model. It also outperformed the standard version by 24 percent.
AI performance tests used Meta’s Llama 3.1 8-billion-parameter model. Exynos 2700 generated responses 18 percent faster than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. It recognised and processed user prompts 5 percent faster as well. Power efficiency also improved. A simulated usage test showed Exynos 2700 consumed 161mA. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro used 185mA. This marks a claimed 12.7 percent reduction.
These results come only from Samsung’s internal testing. Independent benchmarks are not yet available. Exynos 2700 may use Samsung Foundry’s SF2P process. The chip could improve power efficiency, thermal control, and overall performance. Samsung may announce the processor later this year. It would then appear in the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027.
