Acer Unveils Compact Predator Atlas 7 Handheld and Dual Play Mini Concept

Acer has added a smaller model to its Predator handheld line. The company announced the Predator Atlas 7. The device takes performance from the recent 8-inch model and places it in a 7-inch body.

Acer also showed Project DualPlay Mini. That concept aims to work as a gaming handheld and as a portable work machine. Both products appeared at the next@acer press conference in Berlin.

The Predator Atlas 7, model PA07-I51, targets players who want a more compact Predator device. It can use up to an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor. Graphics can go up to Intel Arc B390. The handheld runs Windows 11. With Xbox Game Pass, users can open a large game library. It also supports the wider Windows gaming ecosystem.

Cooling is built for long sessions. The device uses two fans. The main unit is a Predator AeroBlade metal fan with 89 blades. Each blade is 0.1mm thick. Acer says airflow can rise by up to 10 percent. A second plastic fan works with it. Vortex Flow tuning then sends hot air out through angled channels.

Battery capacity reaches up to 80Wh. That should support longer play away from a desk. The shell is shaped for grip. Contoured handles, a larger palm rest, recessed keys, and an anti-slip texture aim to reduce fatigue.

Control options go further. Joysticks can use a Tunneling Magnetoresistance design. Acer says that setup improves precision and resists drift. Hall-effect analog triggers add travel and pressure range. A fingerprint reader in the power button supports Windows Hello.

The screen is a 7-inch FHD touch panel. It runs at 120Hz. Peak brightness reaches up to 500 nits. Variable refresh rate is supported. The aspect ratio is 16:9. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC coating covers the panel. Acer will also pack a tempered-glass protector. Ten-point touch is supported.

Ports include two Thunderbolt 4 connectors for docks, displays, and accessories. An UHS-II microSD slot can add storage. Wireless options include Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

PredatorSense handles monitoring, performance modes, RGB lighting, and game settings. A dedicated button opens the app. Dual 2W speakers use DTS Ultra. Dual microphones use Acer PurifiedVoice to cut background noise.

Project DualPlay Mini is an 8-inch concept. It offers two play layouts. A backlit physical keyboard supports a mini-laptop stance for shooters. A handheld stance suits console-style play. Users can also hook up an external display and work on the road.

A flip-and-swivel hinge switches the modes. To mark Acer’s 50th year, the back cover hides “Acer 50 since 1976” in Morse code. Intel powers the concept. Dual-fan cooling follows the Atlas 8 approach, with a metal AeroBlade fan and a plastic fan.

The Predator Atlas 7 is due in North America in the fourth quarter of 2026. EMEA availability is planned from November 2026. The earlier Predator Atlas 8 is due in North America and EMEA from September 2026. Project DualPlay Mini is only a concept. It is not on sale. Price, final specs, and timing may change by region.
