Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G Goes on Sale in India at Rs 16,699
Lava launched the Shark 2 Pro 5G in India on Tuesday. It is the third phone in the Shark 2 family, after the Shark 2 4G and Shark 2 5G. The Noida company is selling one memory configuration and two colours through authorised online and offline stores.
The sole variant has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The price is Rs 16,699. Colours are Akash Blue and Nanda Silver. Lava is also offering free doorstep service across India.
Software is stock-style Android 16. Lava says the phone will get one operating-system upgrade and two years of security patches. Vayu AI, the company’s own chatbot, is preinstalled.
The screen is a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD. Resolution is 720 × 1,600 pixels. Refresh rate reaches 120Hz. Dust and splash protection is rated IP64.
An octa-core Unisoc T8200 chipset drives the phone. Lava cites an AnTuTu score above 500,000. Physical RAM is 6GB, with up to 6GB of virtual RAM. Storage is 128GB.
The rear camera is a single 50-megapixel AI unit. The front camera is 8 megapixels. Dual-View Video can record front and rear views together. Video capture goes up to 2K at 30 frames per second.
Battery capacity is 6,000mAh. Wired charging is rated at 18W. Connectivity includes dual SIM, 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB Type-C. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner handles unlocking.
The Shark 2 Pro 5G is a mid-budget 5G addition, not a camera flagship. Buyers get a large cell, a 120Hz panel, and a relatively clean Android 16 build. Update support is limited to one OS step plus two years of security fixes.
