Apple Reveals iPhone Duo Battery Capacity Ahead of Global Launch
Apple launched the iPhone Duo in India and other global markets early last month. The foldable arrived alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series, AirPods 5, and Apple Watch Series 12. The iPhone Duo marked Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone market. The passport-style device will go on sale later this week and is currently available for pre-order. Days before the global launch, Apple disclosed the battery capacity of the iPhone Duo in an EU certification document. At launch, the company claimed the device delivers up to 44 hours of battery life.
Battery Details from EU Listing
The iPhone Duo appears on the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL) database under the device identifier A3720. The listing, based on documents submitted by Apple, shows that the foldable carries a 4,883mAh battery (rated capacity). It also lists 51 hours and 30 minutes of battery endurance per cycle.
The iPhone Duo receives an energy class label of A. It earns a drop resistance rating of B and a repairability rating of C in the EU. According to the EPREL listing, the device also carries an IP68 dust-and-water-resistance rating. Apple provided these details to meet EU compliance requirements. The company had not previously revealed the exact rated battery capacity.
Battery Life Claims from Launch Event
During its September 9 keynote, Apple said the iPhone Duo offers “all-day battery life.” The company claimed up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner foldable screen. With the cover display, the device is said to deliver up to 44 hours of video playback. Apple also stated that the iPhone Duo provides up to 22 hours of battery life when both the inner and outer displays are used on a single charge. In addition, the company claimed users can get 5 hours of video playback after 5 minutes of charging.
Pricing and Key Specifications
The EPREL listing arrives just days before the iPhone Duo goes on sale globally on October 23. The foldable is currently available for pre-order on Apple’s online store. Pricing starts at Rs. 2,99,900 for the base variant with 256GB of storage. The phone is powered by Apple’s 2nm A20 Pro chipset. It features a dual rear camera unit, a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR foldable display, and a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR cover screen.
The newly disclosed battery figures provide more clarity on the iPhone Duo’s endurance ahead of its wider availability later this week.
