OnePlus 16 Spotted in Global and India Software Testing

OnePlus 16 undergoes global testing, hints at possible international launch despite market uncertainties.

OnePlus 16 Spotted in Global and India Software Testing

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 16 in China earlier this month. The phone serves as the successor to last year’s OnePlus 15. The flagship is expected to reach global markets, including India, soon. The company has not confirmed an international launch yet. However, the device is now undergoing testing with global and Indian software builds.

Software Testing Suggests Broader Plans

Tipster Abhishek Yadav shared details on X. He said OnePlus is testing the OnePlus 16 under model numbers CPH2901, CPH2903, and CPH2905. These builds cover both global and Indian software versions. The company has not officially confirmed any plans to sell the phone outside China. Still, the testing activity points to a possible wider release.

The news arrives amid uncertainty about OnePlus’s presence in some international markets. The brand recently withdrew from the US and Europe. Despite this, the latest leak indicates that a global launch of the OnePlus 16 has not been completely ruled out.

Key Specifications of the OnePlus 16

The OnePlus 16 features a 6.78-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The phone ships with a large 9,000mAh battery. It supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

On the camera front, the device carries a triple rear setup. It includes a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera. A 50-megapixel front camera handles selfies. The phone also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. It runs ColorOS 17, which is based on Android 17.

In China, the OnePlus 16 launched last week with a starting price of CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs. 86,000).

Additional Models in Development

The tipster also mentioned that the OnePlus 16R is in development. This model carries the number PYP110 and is positioned as a gaming-oriented device. OnePlus is reportedly working on another handset under the model number CPH2887. Both upcoming phones are said to feature high-refresh-rate displays.

The combination of software testing and strong hardware specifications keeps interest high in the OnePlus 16. Official confirmation of an India or global launch is still awaited.
