X Links U.S. Cash tags to Five Trading Platforms

X has upgraded Cashtag in the United States. The feature now connects stock, ETF, and crypto pages to five outside trading platforms. Users can move from a financial post toward a trade with fewer steps.

The company launched the U.S. Cashtag Partner Program with Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, Interactive Brokers, and Moomoo. After opening an enabled ticker such as $BTC or $TSLA, a user can tap Trade. The order then happens on the partner’s app or website. It does not happen on X.

The path is simple. A user searches a supported Cashtag or taps one inside a post. X shows a live price chart and related conversation. It then lists the participating brokers and exchanges. The user picks one, signs in or opens an account, and places the order on that firm’s platform.

X says it does not execute the trade itself. Final orders stay with companies that already run trading systems. Asset lists, account rules, eligibility, and fees depend on the chosen partner.

Product engineering lead Mridul Singhai said Cashtags are meant to close the gap between a ticker on the timeline and the market. In his view, a tap should lead to the asset, the live chart, the discussion, and a route to a brokerage partner.

Kraken confirmed its role as a U.S. launch partner. If a user picks Kraken on a ticker page, X sends that person to Kraken’s app or site to log in and trade. Kraken said its setup covers Cashtags tied to more than 2,500 assets on its centralised and decentralised services. That figure describes Kraken’s own coverage. It does not mean every Cashtag on X will open a Kraken product. Location rules and account checks still apply.

Interactive Brokers also confirmed the link for U.S. traders. Users can view an asset on X and continue to the IBKR site to analyse it and place orders. Newly eligible U.S. clients who open and fund qualifying accounts through Cashtag may receive a $100 promotional credit, or about Rs 9,555.

Moomoo described itself as one of the first U.S.-regulated brokers in the program. Supported stock Cashtags can send users to Moomoo pages with market data and trading access.

X named Coinbase and Gemini as the other launch partners. It has not published one list of assets for each firm. Coverage can therefore differ by platform. Neither X nor the partners gave a timetable for expansion outside the United States. They also did not name additional brokers. Kraken said more would follow, but it did not set a date.

Users should check each platform’s rules before they trade. Availability still depends on the asset, the country, and the account.
