Lava Launches the Virat Curve 5G in India

Lava has introduced the Virat Curve 5G in India. The phone arrived on Monday as the newest model in the Virat lineup. It offers three colours and a 6,000 mAh battery.

A small screen sits on the back. Users can show custom text and emojis there. They can also read key alerts without unlocking the phone. A MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip powers the device. The front panel measures 6.67 inches and refreshes at 120 Hz. A 50-megapixel camera handles rear shots.

The 6 GB RAM plus 128 GB storage model costs Rs 23,999. Bank offers can bring the price down to Rs 19,999. Colour choices are Ellora Slate, Heritage Indigo, and Makrana Ivory. Sales start on Flipkart on September 28.

The phone ships with Android 16. Lava promises two operating-system upgrades and three years of security patches. The display is a full-HD+ 3D curved AMOLED panel at 1,080 by 2,400 pixels. Pixel density is 394 ppi. It covers the full DCI-P3 colour range. Peak brightness can reach 1,100 nits. The rear mini screen can show volume, battery level, time, emojis, and notifications.

The Dimensity 7100 uses a 6 nm process. Memory includes 6 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The phone also supports 6 GB of virtual RAM.

A Sony IMX752 sensor leads the rear camera. Electronic image stabilisation is included. Up front, a 13-megapixel camera uses a screen flash for selfies and video calls.

Sensors include an IR blaster, gyroscope, accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. The handset carries MIL-STD-810H certification. It also has an IP64 rating against dust and splashes. Unlock options include an in-display fingerprint reader and face unlock.

The 6,000 mAh battery supports 45 W charging. A 33 W adapter comes in the box. Lava claims up to 55 hours of talk time, 720 hours of standby, and 660 minutes of YouTube playback on one charge. The phone measures 162.26 by 73.51 by 8.55 mm and weighs 184 grams.

Lava has not listed extra memory variants yet. Availability begins next week on Flipkart.
