Amazfit Launches T-Rex Dual Solar Rugged Watch with Front and Rear Solar Panels
Amazfit has launched the T-Rex Dual Solar. The company positions it as a rugged watch for long outdoor trips and multi-day adventures. It uses a 1.32-inch AMOLED screen with peak brightness up to 3,000 nits. Solar panels sit on the front and the back to stretch battery life. The watch also adds navigation tools, more than 180 workout modes, 10 ATM water resistance, and recreational diving to 50 metres.
The US price is $649.99, or about Rs 62,300. It is on sale through Amazfit’s website and Amazon in the United States. An India launch has not been announced.
The display runs at 466 x 466 pixels. Sapphire glass covers the panel. The bezel and buttons use Grade 5 titanium. The back is glass-ceramic. A built-in flashlight offers white and red light.
A microphone and speaker support Bluetooth calls. Wireless options include Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The watch works with Android 7.0 or later and iOS 14.0 or later through the Zepp app. Zepp Flow, podcast storage, and more than 180 sports modes are included. Zepp Coach can build training plans. The watch also links with Strava, TrainingPeaks, Runna, and Google Fit.
Navigation uses dual-band GPS and six satellite systems. Colour maps come preloaded. Contour and ski-resort maps can be downloaded. Turn-by-turn directions, route planning, waypoints, and POI search are listed. A Navigation Gradient Curve shows a colour-coded elevation profile. LiveShare can send live location and activity data.
Water resistance is 10 ATM. Recreational diving is supported to 50 metres. Health tracking covers heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, skin temperature, sleep, heart-rate variability, and breathing quality. Menstrual-cycle tracking and guided breathing are also included.
The battery is 660mAh. Amazfit rates typical use at up to 25 days. The company says three hours of daily front solar exposure can stretch that to 34 days. Rear solar charging can reach 51 days under its test conditions. Outdoor Extreme and Expedition modes cut power on long trips. Solar Priority Mode aims to gather more solar energy. Accuracy GPS Mode is claimed at up to 41 hours.
India price and a local sale date remain unlisted. Buyers should treat battery figures as laboratory claims until independent tests appear.
