Insta360 Launches Luna Ultra Gimbal Camera with Leica Partnership
Insta360 has unveiled the Luna Ultra. This new gimbal camera results from collaboration with Leica. The device packs a 1-inch main camera and a dedicated telephoto lens. It also delivers strong three-axis stabilisation in a compact body.
Users can record videos in up to 8K resolution. The camera includes a detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen. Moreover, it features a triple-chip system with two imaging processors and a Qualcomm 4nm AI chip. This setup supports advanced AI-powered tracking and Dolby Vision recording. Additionally, the device offers up to 240 minutes of battery life and provides up to 12x zoom through its telephoto camera.
Price and Availability
The Insta360 Luna Ultra starts at $769.99, which equals roughly Rs. 73,700 for the Standard Bundle. The Creator Bundle costs $969.99, or about Rs. 92,800. It comes in two attractive colours: Cosmic Black and Stellar White.
The Standard Bundle includes basic accessories such as a protective cover and wrist strap. In contrast, the Creator Bundle adds premium items like a Battery Handle, Mic Pro Transmitter, Wide-Angle Lens, and other content creation tools.
Key Features and Specifications
The Luna Ultra uses a three-axis gimbal stabilisation system. This system allows wide pan, tilt, and roll movements. It achieves a maximum control speed of 210 degrees per second. Furthermore, it offers stabilisation accuracy up to ±0.005 degrees.
The main lens comes from Leica Summicron. It features a 1-inch sensor, f/1.8 aperture, and 20mm-equivalent focal length. The telephoto camera includes a 1/1.3-inch sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and 60mm-equivalent focal length. Together, they support up to 12x zoom for both photos and videos.
The camera records video at up to 8K resolution and 30 fps. It also handles 4K at up to 120 fps and Full HD at up to 240 fps. Shooting modes include PureVideo, Slow Motion, Timelapse, TimeShift, and Barrel Roll. For photography, it captures images up to 37 megapixels. The camera works seamlessly with iOS and Android devices. It pairs well with accessories like the Insta360 Mic Air, Mic Pro, and POV Head Tracker. The device measures 52.4 × 169.9 × 38.5 mm and weighs between 233g and 235g, depending on the colour.
