Redmi Note 17 Pro Series Set for India Launch on September 15

Redmi will launch the Note 17 Pro series in India next week. The Xiaomi sub-brand announced the plan on Tuesday. The lineup is expected to include two phones. Those models are likely the Redmi Note 17 Pro and the Note 17 Pro Max. The company has also shown design, colours, and key features.

Both phones appear with a flat rear panel. Each one uses a dual-camera setup. The Pro Max model will also carry a 50-megapixel camera. The series will offer a battery of up to 10,000mAh.

India launch date and availability

A dedicated microsite now lists the India launch date as September 15. The page does not print the final model names. However, it confirms that two phones are coming. That structure matches Redmi’s global Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max pairing. The brand has already begun teasing a Note 17 series with Max branding.

The microsite also highlights a battery of up to 10,000mAh. Redmi calls the lineup a “mAhster of strength.” Citing internal lab tests, the company claims more than four days of use on a single charge with light usage. Buyers in India will be able to purchase the phones on Amazon.

Design and cameras

The presumed Redmi Note 17 Pro appears in blue. It has a flat back. A square camera module sits in the top-right corner. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is also shown with a dual rear camera. Its camera island looks similar to the Pro model. That phone will use a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilisation. Power and volume buttons sit on the right side of both devices.

Global Pro Max reference

Redmi launched the Note 17 Pro Max in select global markets last month. The base 8GB + 256GB model started at JPY 79,980, or about Rs 47,900. That phone uses an octa-core Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. It pairs 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM with up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Besides the 50-megapixel main camera, it also includes an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. India pricing has not been confirmed yet.
