Google Rolls Out Wear OS 7 Update for Pixel Watches
Google has started rolling out the Wear OS 7 update to eligible Pixel Watch models. This new version brings several important improvements to the smartwatch experience. Moreover, it strengthens integration with other connected devices.
The update introduces Live Updates support. Users can now view real-time information directly on their watch. For example, they can check sports scores, food delivery status, or workout progress without opening any app.
Google also added a convenient media output switcher. This feature lets users control audio playback across headphones, speakers, and other devices straight from their watch. Additionally, Wear OS 7 supports upcoming smart glasses. Users can easily review photos captured by the glasses on their smartwatch.
Better Battery Life and Performance Wear OS 7 includes system-level power optimizations. These changes can improve battery life by up to 10 percent compared to the previous version. As a result, users enjoy longer usage between charges.
Later this year, select devices will receive advanced Gemini Intelligence features. These include the ability to create custom widgets using natural language prompts. Furthermore, multistep task execution will allow users to perform actions across multiple apps directly from the watch. Gemini will also offer contextual suggestions based on personal data from services like Gmail and Search.
Availability The Wear OS 7 update is rolling out now to supported Pixel Watch models. Samsung is also expected to release its One UI 9 Watch update based on Wear OS 7 for compatible Galaxy Watch devices later this year.
This update reflects Google’s continued focus on making smartwatches more useful and efficient. Users can look forward to smoother performance and smarter features in the coming months.
