AMD Adds Ryzen 5 7500 and Ryzen 5 5500F to Desktop Lineup

AMD has expanded its Ryzen 5 desktop range with two new processors. The company announced the Ryzen 5 7500 and Ryzen 5 5500F on Friday. One chip targets AM5 boards. The other targets AM4 systems.

The Ryzen 5 7500 includes integrated Radeon Graphics. It is built for the AM5 platform. The Ryzen 5 5500F is a lower-cost option for AM4 PCs. It does not add the same graphics focus.

The Ryzen 5 7500 uses Zen 4. It has six cores and simultaneous multithreading, for 12 threads in total. The base clock is 3.7GHz. Boost can reach 5GHz. Cache includes 6MB of L2 and 32MB of L3. Default TDP is 65W.

AMD makes the 7500’s CPU cores on TSMC’s 5nm FinFET process. The I/O die uses a 6nm FinFET process. The CPU compute die measures 71 square millimetres. The chip fits the AM5 socket. Supported chipsets include A620, X670E, X670, B650E, B650, X870E, X870, B840, and B850.

The Ryzen 5 5500F uses Zen 3. It also has six cores and 12 threads. The base clock is 3GHz. Boost can reach 4.4GHz. Cache includes 3MB of L2 and 16MB of L3. Default TDP is 65W.

Its CPU cores are built on TSMC’s 7nm FinFET process. The compute die measures 74 square millimetres. The processor uses the AM4 socket. Supported chipsets include X570, X470, X370, B550, B450, B350, and A520.

Both processors ship with AMD’s Wraith Stealth cooler. Maximum operating temperature is 95 degrees Celsius. Official software support includes 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11, plus RHEL and Ubuntu.
